In this study, the researchers aimed to analyze a movie named "Jame Daran" based on "Ronald Barthes" semiotics. The aim of the study is to unveil the codes and signs present in this film through the semiotic viewpoint, which is one of the approaches of analyzing a text. This study is established upon the fact that signs cannot be scrutinized outside their territories, since any sign bears a different function in a certain context. Then, major semiotic themes proposed by Barthes including social, technical, ideological, hermenutic, and aesthetic signs are introduced. The methodology being employed in this study was descriptive- analytic. The results showed that, in 17 selected scenes, the highest and lowest usage of signs is allocated to the technical and hermenutic, respectively. The statistics showed that in these scenes 98% technical, 64% cognitive aesthetic, 58% social, 58% ideological, and35% hermenutic signs have been used. The difference among the percieved percentages revealed that some signs are used more and some less, and such a difference is due to the genre of the film.
