The study and analysis of linguistic varieties is important not only for preserving a language or dialect, but also for preserving a nation's history and culture. On the other hand, examining dialect morphology and extracting derivational affixes can be useful in equating foreign words in modern languages. The Bakhtiari dialect is a descendant of Middle Persian and Old Persian. This dialect contains a large number of words with derivational affixes that are no longer used in modern Persian. The goal of this study is to examine the derivational affixes of the Bakhtiari dialect of Chahar-lang using a descriptive-analytical approach and compare them to derivational affixes in Persian. Therefore, In the present study, the derivational affixes of the Bakhtiari dialect of Chahar-lang extracted from the Dictionary of the Bakhtiari Dialect of Chahâr-Lang by Sarlak (2002) and compared with the derivational affixes of Persian extracted from the book The Derivational Structure of Word in Modern Persian by Kalbasi (2008), and then conformity, non-conformity, and significance were checked using the SPSS program. The results show that when the derivational affixes of the Bakhtiari dialect of Chahar-lang are compared to Persian derivational affixes, 35.8% non-conformity, 32.9% conformity, and 31.3% significance are observed. It is worth noting that the derivational affixes of Bakhtiari dialect, which are not found in Persian, can be used to equate foreign words in Persian.
