Abstract
Phonological system of Behbahani dialect has 25 consonants and 12 vowels which are either simple or complex. Its basic syllabic structure is cvcc. Behbahani speakers use /ž/phoneme instead of/ Ĵ/.The main phonological processes of Behbahani dialect are as follows: - lenition - conversion - forition - vowel alternation - metathesis - deletion -Change of /āb/,/ab/,/af/syllables to /ow/syllables as the result of lenition and assimilation - changing the syllable structure of diminutive nouns and deletion of some of the phonemes.
