Abstract
The Present Paper is an attempt to introduce certain basic issues in Cognitive Typology. First a description of Cognitive Typology, specifically in contrast to other Typological approaches is presented. Subsequently the different theoretical means of analysis in this approach are introduced. The link between, Cognitive Typology, Language Universals and the cognitive analysis of language change are further explored in this paper.
