چکیده

کاسکلا و مورفی ریشه­ چندمعنایی را در تنوعِ موجود در رویه­ های معنایی-کاربرد­شناختی یا روابطی می ­دانند که از طریق آنها معانیِ واژه­ ها به نحوی گسترش یا تغییر می­ یابند که یک واحد واژگانی دارای چند معنی مجزا می­ شود. از سوی دیگر، آنتونانو چندمعنایی را شرایطی می­داند که در آن یک واژه، دو یا چند معنیِ مرتبط با یکدیگر دارد. در این پژوهش، تعریف چندمعنایی تلفیقی از دو تعریف ارائه شده در بالا در نظر گرفته شده­ است. به این ترتیب چندمعنایی عبارت است از گسترش دامنه­ معنی یک واژه از مفهوم پیش­ نمونه­، به سمت چند مفهوم کاملاً مجزا و یا مرتبط. این که چرا معنی واژه گسترش می ­یابد اهمیت دارد اما مهم‌تر از آن، چگونگی این گسترش است. برای مثال چگونه دو حوزه­ مفهومی جداگانه مانند حوزه­ دریافت صدا از طریق حواس شنوایی و حوزه­ درک و فهم، با هم ارتباط پیدا می­ کنند و به عنوان معنی­ های یک واژه در نظر گرفته می­ شوند. در این پژوهش چندمعنایی فعل دیدن و تفکیک­ های معنایی آن بررسی می ­شود. به این منظور تمام معانی و مثال­ های فعل دیدن از فرهنگ سخن، فرهنگ دهخدا، فرهنگ هم­آیند­های فارسی و پایان­نامه مادرشاهیان جمع ­آوری، سپس دسته ­بندی معنایی برای این فعل ارائه می ­شود. در مرحله بعد، نقش­های مفهومی هر یک از این طبقات بررسی می ­شود تا وجود ارتباط میان طبقه ­های معنایی فعل دیدن و نقش­های مفهومی در هریک از این طبقات و چگونگی این ارتباط مشخص شود.

Polysemy is believed by some linguists to be a situation in which a word has several distinct senses (e.g. Koskela and Murphy (2006)). Other linguists, like Antunano (1999) define polysemy as a situation in which a word has several related senses. In this article, both definitions of a polysemous word is considered; polysemy is known a situation in which a word has several senses which are either related or distinct. It is important why a word sense spreads  from its original domain to other domains, more importantly; however, is how two distinct domains relate to each other. For instance, how the “understanding” domain can relate to the “receiving sounds by ear” domain and become different senses of the word “hear”. This article discusses the polysemy of the verb “didæn” along with the theta roles of the subject in each of meaning classes. To do so, all the senses of “didæn” are studied from Sokhan Dictionary (Anvari, 1387), Dehkhoda Dictionary, Dictionary of Persian Collocations (EslamiShoar et al, to be published), and Madarshahian (1388). All the senses are then classified and the theta roles are analyzed in each of the classes. The aim is to know: Is there a relation between these meaning classes and the theta roles of each class? If there is such a relation,
how is it established?
