چکیده

در این مقــاله ابتدا دیــدگاه­های کنت پایک در خصوص روش بررسی و مطالعه زبان مطرح می­شود آنگاه برخی دیدگاه­های دل هایمزدر مورد توانش ارتباطی و مطالعه زبان به عنوان پدیـده­ای اجتماعی مورد بحث قرار می­گیرد. در خاتمه، روش پژوهش کیفی که از جدیدترین مباحث در زبان­شناسی کاربردی است به عنوان تلفیقی از نتایج دو دیدگاه فوق معرفی می­شود.

چکیده [English]

This paper introduces Pike viewpoint about research method and language study. Then some of the views of Hymes on communicative competence and language study as social issue are discussed. Finally qualitative research method which is the newest issue in applied linguistics is presented as result of the two mentioned viewpoints.
